Dr. Rebecca L. Brower is a Research Faculty member at the Center for Postsecondary Success. Prior to receiving her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University, she was the lead graduate research assistant with the Linking Institutional Policies to Student Success project under the direction of Associate Professor Bradley E. Cox. In addition, she has taught qualitative research methods to master’s and doctoral students. Her research focuses on qualitative research methods and institutional policies in higher education, particularly those which facilitate student encounters with difference and foster success for students from underrepresented groups. She has authored and co-authored articles in The Journal of Higher Education, the Journal of African American Males in Education, and ACPA Developments. She is a two-time finalist for the Marvalene Hughes Research in Education Award and winner of the interdisciplinary research award at FSU’s 2015 Postdoctoral Symposium..
